An an independent music act with no commercial potential and no ambition of graduating to arena-rocking legends, we haven't put a lot of energy into getting the word out. If you enjoy our music, though, and want to know how you can help us out, here are some quick ideas. You too can join the Knights in Stillicide's Service Army.
Tell your friends about us
Our music isn't likely to get a lot of FM radio airplay. Our shorter songs are 6-7 minutes long. We insist on cramming at least three musical genres into each track. We like riffs too much to be techno, and modular synthesizers too much to be rock. We spend more time trying to figure out how to abuse various effects than we do trying to write catchy hooks. If someone's ever going to hear about it, it'll be by word of mouth. Write reviews of our music in your blog. Link our site. Say loudly to an acquaintance, as you walk through a crowded airport terminal, "man, Stillicide sure is the next big thing."
Spread our music around
All of the mp3s included on this website are released under a Creative Commons license. You're invited to do almost whatever you want with it. Include us on mix CDs. Score your independent films and home movies. Sample our beats for your backpacker hip-hop tracks. Remix our tracks in your own style (we can even hook you up with some source tracks). Stillicide is like a magic penny.
Buy a CD
We don't have any organized distribution system set up for our music, but we do have a demo CD available with meticulously arranged and carefully remastered versions of many of our tracks. CDs are $10 each (+$2 S&H in the US), and until we set up a better system, you can just e-mail us if you'd like one. The copious amount of beer we drink while recording doesn't pay for itself.
Thanks to Bradley Sands, who inspired much of this page with a similar page on his own website. He, in turn, thanks Carlton Mellick III, so thanks, Carlton, as well. It's like that degrees of separation thing where we'll eventually end up thanking Kevin Bacon. Thanks, Kevin. Thevin.
